Setting up a template to use your Salesforce data

If you are unfamiliar with what templates are click here to learn about them Templates. Very briefly, templates are document blueprints that you add placeholder text to. These placeholders are swapped when you want to generate a document.

Setting up DOCX

  1. Identify the fields you want to merge onto your document.
  2. Copy the API name of those fields and paste it onto your template. Surround the field with double curly brackets.
  3. Upload your template to Inkit

Setting up PDF

  1. Upload your PDF
  2. Identify the fields you want to merge onto your document.
  3. Click "Add Merge Field"
  4. Copy and paste the API name of the field your want to merge onto your template
  5. Click save

Setting up HTML

  1. Identify the fields you want to merge onto your document.
  2. Copy the API name of those fields and paste it onto your template. Surround the field with double curly brackets.
  3. Upload your template to Inkit

Parent & Child Fields

Inkit Render supports pulling in parent and child fields by using the standard Salesforce syntax.
